GA trip #1

Time for our annual trip to Georgia for the LowCountryBoil on 4th of July weekend! Talk about amazing food and wonderful company! The boys had to go outside and play baseball before we left. Jake had given Brady a bat that was too small for him...

Then...we got to Nancy's house for the boil...She bought all of the KIDS lots of different toys to play with while they were there...Travis could not help himself...

When we got home, Brady had to wear his baseball pants that Jake gave him and sit with his bat. I wasn't too sure we were going to get the pants off him or the bat from his hands, but we managed. He still wants to go to "my baseball field"...where that came from, who knows?!?!

We had a great time! Thanks to John and Nancy for making us feel at home! LoveYall!

It's a baby brother!

Today we went to the doctor for our 20+ week ultrasound. We are having another boy! Very excited. He was very active and squirmy.

The first 2 pictures show him with his foot by his head and his fist at his mouth. He kept opening and closing his mouth and sticking his tongue out. I guess he was trying to figure out how that all worked...

Well, I am yet to tell Brady that he is not going to have a "baby sister at my house". I am waiting for Travis to get home. With Brady you never know the reaction or comment he might make, so I did not want Travis to miss it!

All looks good for 12-7-08 still! Even though Brady can't have a "baby sister at my house" he will still be able to "hold my baby at Christmas"!

Newest Travis creations! 2008

Travis made this custom cabinet for a couple at church. There was a vent in the floor where this is, so Travis had to design it to have the vent come out the bottom side. It fit perfectly. Being his first attempt at working with glass and installing in a log home...he did an amazing job!
The couple from out Sunday School class that Travis' built this for and trimmed their new home are so wonderful to let us show it off! Thanks. After she got it all decorated, the bookcase/window seat looked even better! I am sooo jealous! I want one in my house.

Travis built this medicine cabinet for another lady at church. He also made a tower with cubby holes to put stuff to go along with this. This is just a prefinished picture in the shop. He was taking it to install, but she did not want to take any pictures of the bathroom until she had painted everything!

This latest piece went into a bathroom for storage. The toilet was in this little room off the main part of the bathroom. There is a shelf inside and it was made to look built in. He did a great job on the doors (a first attempt) and the homeowner, also from church, was very pleased.

Thank you so much to all of the wonderful people from our church who have requsted Travis' skills. It has been a blessing to our family in a hard time!

"Pea-nit" update! 5June2008

I went back to the doctor today for a checkup. All is well. I have not gained any weight, but Baby is growing right along schedule. Can't complain about that. We also had an ultrasound to check for and Down Syndrome markers. All is well with that also.
Not sure about the formatting of these pictures, but at least they are here...This is a profile. Baby was lying face down and bobbing its head the whole time! We all, including the tech, got a kick out of it. She had a hard time getting the measurements because Baby was bobbing the head...
This first one is face-on. Hard to see much, still looks like an alien at this point. Next is another profile.

Another profile from multiple attempts to get the right measurment from the bobble-head baby! Then, finally, a full 7 cm body shot. You could actually see the little arms move over its head, little legs kicking, and of course, the bobbing head! It was amazing...I love to actually see this!

My next appointment is July 3. It should just be a check up. I will be 17.5 weeks, but they told me I had to wait another 2 weeks to find out if Brady is going to have a little sister or little brother. If you ask Brady, he will tell you that he is going to "hab little sister a (in) my home!" We shall see...

STORM! 9June08

Here are some pictures of the aftermath of the storm that we (Jim, Anne, Travis, Lindsey, Janice, and Brady) all slept through!!!! This is a big tree that fell across the driveway by the gate, ripping down power and phone lines along with it.
This is a small tree in our backyard. The top of it was twisted out. The same thing happened to all of the trees. None of them were blown over or uprooted, they all had the tops twisted out, all 5 of them!

This is the tree that barely missed the front corner of our house. It fell from across the driveway ripping down the power and phone lines with it. The branches scraped the house, but no damage was done.

This is a close picture of the tree that just barely missed the back corner of the house! The branches brushed the house, but no damage.

Sorry they are so dark. We are truly blessed that none of these trees did any serious damage! The Lord surely had his protective hand over us that night! Thank you!

OK- let me explain...Brady had this blue ball since his birthday. Somehow it got a hole in it...and Travis had the wonderful idea to put it on his head...the camera was not available, of course. And, monkey see-monkey do here, well, scroll down!

OH---I so cute!

This beautiful mess is from Travis' last softball game with the church. Every time we were at the field Brady would want one of those Italian Ice push-up pops...We managed to get away without one for several weeks...until...Grandma Janice!

He loved it! And even though it was a mess, 1 ruined shirt, 30 minutes of de-stickying Travis' truck, and 20 minutes of Brady scrubbing later, it was worth it to see the enjoyment that Brady got out of it! Thanks Grandma Janice!

Another fishing outing! 3June2008

We brought Grandma Janice (Travis' mom) to the Lenoir City park for a little fishing trip.
Brady had fun on the dock and did not want to leave.

He was not as interested in this kind of fishing as in the boat...but he still enjoyed being outside.
